The success of Red Cross programs in Yolo and Lake Counties is due largely to our core of volunteer staff. Volunteers help our chapter by being a part of our local and national disaster response teams. We have more than 500 volunteers who help us in various ways.
Volunteers help our chapter by:
teaching CPR to the community and in worksites
teaching First Aid and Babysitting
assisting our chapter in administrative functions such as data entry, making press releases, answering phones, filing and data entry
doing emergency preparedness presentations to Girl & Boy Scout troops & schools groups.
Don't have that kind of time, but still want to help? We have openings on our Special Events and Fundraising teams which support our chapter for one time events such as the Heart of the Home Kitchen Tour and our annual Heroes Awards Luncheon.
Besides being fun, volunteering looks great on your college entry applications, medical/graduate school applications, resumes and scholarship applications. Besides, it's a great way of meeting new people, learn new skills and making a real contribution to your community.
We have volunteer positions open in Disaster Services, Fund Raising/Special Event Planning and in Office Administration.
If you are interested in a volunteer position at the American Red Cross of Yolo County, please contact Katie Kelsch at 530-662-4669 or emergencyservices@yc-arc.org.
