FAQs About Your Enrollment

What if I change my mind about taking the class/What if I can't make the class?

There are no refunds for registration fees.  You may transfer once, within the next  60 days,  to an alternate class with a $15 transfer fee.  The transaction must be made prior to the original class date.  Call the chapter during regular business hours (M-F, 8:30am-5:00pm). If you still do not attend the transferred class, your registration and transfer fees are forfeited.

What if I sign up for the ‘wrong’ class?

It is your responsibility to ensure that the class you are registering for is the class you need for your employment or license.  While the Red Cross staff is knowledgeable in many areas, you should take it upon yourself to verify your requirements with your supervising body.

What if I get sick?

Call the chapter if it is near the class date.  If you do not contact the chapter and simply fail to show up to the class, your registration fee is forfeit and you may not transfer to another class. You may transfer once without a fee to a class within 30 days of the original date.  No further transfers are available.

Students should bring a lunch to class.  Students will not be allowed to leave the building unless arrangements have been made by the parent.

Parents must meet the instructor prior to leaving the classroom

What if I show up sick to a class?

The instructor may ask you to call the office and reschedule to another class when you may be healthier.  You can transfer to another class at no cost once for illness, as long as the transferred class is within a month of the original class or the next available.  If you have a non-airborne illness, let the staff know in advance and an individual manikin will be provided.  Note-you may be asked to disclose the nature of your request

Can I obtain CEUs (Continuing Education Units)?

Yes. Students should visit www.yc-arc.org. Go to the Services menu, follow CEU link and follow directions to obtain their CEU certificate.

Si espanol es su idioma primario, las materias espanolas estan disponibles, pero usted debe solicitar estas materias en el avance.  For any language barrier, you can bring a translator to class, but your translator cannot practice on a manikin and can only help with the written test in limited ways.  This MUST be approved in advance by the Red Cross Staff.

Can I bring my young children to class?
