Heart of the Home Kitchen Tour 2009

The Heart of the Home Kitchen Tour, benefiting our local Red Cross, was held on Saturday, May 2, 2009. This event featured homes in Woodland, Davis and Winters. This year's tour included the fabulous Gable Mansion, located at Cross & First Streets in Woodland. This 1885 Victorian was originally on the tour in 2001, and was back again.

Also featured was the home of Bruce & Robyn Rominger in Winters. The newly-built straw bale house has a beautiful view of the hills which are lined with wine grapes from the Rominger-West Winery. Some of the restaurants & caterers participating were Putah Creek Cafe, Ludy's Main St. BBQ & Catering, Bagel City, Silvina's Basket, Monticello Bistro, WillowOak Farms and Woodland Farmers Market (see complete list below). Wineries pouring this year were Rominger West Winery, Madrona Vineyards and Ehrhardt Estates, to name a few (see complete list below).

This year we offered a chance to experience a private wine tasting tour at Rominger West Winery, sample tasty morsels from local chefs, and the lucky tourists received a souvenir wine glass, all in the convenience and safety of a chauffeured, nine passenger van!
